Job Description - Receptionist

  • Responsibilities:*
  • *Guest Check-in and Check-out:* Greet guests upon arrival, assist with check-in procedures, and provide information about lodge facilities and services. Process guest check-outs efficiently and accurately.
  • *Reservations Management:* Handle guest reservations, including bookings, modifications, and cancellations. Ensure accuracy of reservation details and maintain up-to-date records.
  • *Front Desk Operations:* Manage incoming calls, emails, and inquiries, responding promptly and professionally. Direct inquiries to the appropriate departments or staff members as needed.
  • *Guest Services:* Provide information and assistance to guests regarding lodge activities, local attractions, and wildlife sightings. Address guest concerns or complaints with empathy and professionalism.
  • *Administrative Support:* Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and correspondence. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk area.
  • *Cash Handling:* Process guest payments, including room charges, deposits, and incidental expenses. Balance cash drawers and reconcile transactions accurately.
  • *Safety and Security:* Monitor lobby area for suspicious activity and ensure the safety and security of guests and staff. Follow established procedures in case of emergencies.
  • Requirements:*
  • Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role, preferably in a lodge or hotel environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a warm and welcoming demeanor.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and reservation software. Experience with hospitality management software is a plus.
  • Knowledge of local attractions, wildlife, and activities in the area is desirable.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling reservations, payments, and guest information.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor, with a commitment to providing outstanding service to guests.
