(Payclass 10; 6-Month Fixed Term Contract)

We invite applications for a temporary Recruitment Advisor position for an appointment as soon as possible. The successful candidate will join a highly efficient and professional team within the Staff Recruitment Office. The minimum duration of this temporary contract will be 6 months.


 


The primary purpose of this role is to provide a professional, comprehensive, proactive, and effective advisory service. This includes utilising appropriate recruitment and selection methodologies, ensuring compliance with labour legislation, and attracting the highest calibre candidates to the University, in line with UCT’s Employment Equity policy. The role also includes responsibility for managing the recruitment administrative function, including staff supervision.


 


Requirements for the position:



  • A relevant HR degree or national diploma (NQF 6)

  • At least five (5) years’ relevant working experience in a recruitment environment, preferably at a similar level

  • Three (3) years’ recent and relevant work experience in servicing the recruitment processes for positions from start to finish, ensuring the integrity of the processes are protected

  • Experience in competency-based recruitment and selection methodologies

  • Demonstrated high-quality report writing skills

  • Sound understanding of broader HR functions and relevant legislative frameworks, with the ability to apply this knowledge in recruitment and selection processes

  • Proven ability and experience in problem-solving and decision-making

  • Access to own reliable transport

  • Demonstrated honesty and integrity, particularly in handling financial matters


 


The following would be advantageous:



  • A valid driver’s licence and own car

  • Experience within a tertiary institution environment

  • Experience in staff management

  • Experience in coaching and advising line managers

  • Registrable with the SABPP or registered with the HPCSA

Key responsibilities include:



  • Provide strategic recruitment advice to Executive Staff, Deans, and Line Managers

  • Serve on selection committees and provide expert guidance on recruitment policies and recruitment methodologies, Employment Equity, Labour legislation, and other applicable legislative frameworks

  • Prepare high-quality, detailed recruitment and selection reports

  • Advise candidates and coordinate all recruitment-related arrangements

  • Manage and develop the Recruitment Administrator

The annual remuneration package is between R409 214 and R661 967.
