Position Description

Barrick RoW is seeking to recruit a Regional Management Accountant to join and grow their regional team.

You will be expected to align to the Barrick DNA and to operate within our mining assets along with our people teams. You will contribute in a safe and cost-effective manner to achieve targets in accordance with our Mine Safety Standards, Policies and Procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Review site-level management accounts and packs and consolidate them into regional reports.
• Assist in the redevelopment of business plans for mines in the region.
• Prepare regional reporting/management packs.
• Integrate with and support the mine finance functions in the region.
• Ensure appropriate integration of regional finance and reporting systems (ERP) and procedures, (SOPs - Standard Operating Procedures) with those of the AME Finance region.
• Assist with the annual financial and controls audit for the applicable region and ensure accurate financial results.
• Assist in compiling quarterly write-ups of the results to be published by Barrick as part of the quarterly MD&A disclosures.
• Assist in the compilation of media briefings, ministerial letters, and other ad-hoc presentations, or reports as required from time to time.
• Develop and review budgets.
• Assist the site finance teams in monitoring key value levers within the business to drive optimising free cash flow.
• Review mine financial statements.
• Conduct regional cost and trend analysis, integrating with commercial and mine functions.
• Assist with all other day-to-day financial responsibilities as reasonably requested by the       
  reporting manager.

Qualification Requirements:

• Chartered Accountant or similar qualification with a strong financial & analytical foundation.

Experience & Skills Requirements:

• Recently qualified to 3 years post-qualification experience.
• Solid accounting background, a strong foundation in accounting principles, financial reporting, and financial analysis is essential.
• Preparing management reports and providing insights and recommendations based on financial analysis.
• Mining industry experience preferred but not essential.
