Our client operates within the property management sector, providing accounting and financial management services. The role supports UK-based accounting operations, including bookkeeping, payroll administration, statutory reporting, and client portfolio management.
The successful candidate will work across a variety of finance functions while liaising directly with clients and ensuring compliance with UK accounting and HMRC requirements.
THE ROLE: ACCOUNTS ADMINISTRATOR
This role is responsible for managing a broad range of accounting and bookkeeping responsibilities across a portfolio of clients. The position includes responsibility for month-end accounting, payroll administration, reconciliations, statutory submissions, fixed asset accounting, and management reporting while maintaining accurate financial records and supporting finance-related activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Liaise with clients within the assigned portfolio.
- Process cashbooks and bank reconciliations.
- Oversee creditor processing and reconciliations.
- Process month-end journal entries.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
- Maintain fixed asset registers.
- Manage fixed asset accounting, including acquisitions, disposals, and annual depreciation.
- Handle intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
- Prepare management accounts.
- Administer the full UK payroll function.
- Reconcile VAT and submit HMRC returns.
- Electronically file annual accounts and confirmation statements with HMRC.
- Update the internal workflow management system.
- Assist with other finance-related tasks as requested.
ABOUT YOU
- Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping experience.
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
- Proficiency in Xero and Sage Business Online.
- Proficiency in payroll software, with Simple Pay preferred.
- Experience in HMRC filing.
- Demonstrated ability to work directly with clients.
- Experience working in an accounting firm, with UK experience preferred.
- Proven experience in the accounting sector, particularly with UK-based clients and regulations.
- Familiarity with intercompany accounting practices and fixed asset management.
