Half-day Corporate Tax Specialist

 An established accounting firm is seeking a half-day Corporate Tax Specialist who will be responsible for managing and supporting corporate tax-related activities, ensuring compliance with South African tax regulations. The role involves maintaining accurate tax records, preparing tax returns, and liaising with internal teams and clients to ensure proper documentation and filing.

Key Responsibilities: 

Prepare tax returns to SARS on time

Registrations of all tax types 

Public officer applications  

Preparing objections and disputes and monitoring outcomes  

Monitor SARS correspondence and related matters

Communicate with internal departments, clients and SARS to gather necessary information

Stay updated with tax legislation and regulations to ensure compliance

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or in process of completing similar and relevant experience of minimum 3 years 
  
• Knowledge of South African tax legislation and regulations 
  
• Experience with tax computations  
  
• Strong analytical and attention to detail skills
  
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  
• Ability to work independently and within a team 
  

Experience: 

• Previous experience in tax administration or tax compliance is required
  
• Familiarity with accounting software and tax compliance tools is advantageous (Xero & SARS E-filing)
