Job Title: Head Chef / Kitchen Manager (Live -In, Remote Boutique Property)

About the Role

We are seeking a young, enthusiastic, and highly motivated Head Chef to take full ownership of our kitchen operations. This is an incredible opportunity for a passionate culinary professional to step up, showcase their creativity, and manage a complete daily food service in a beautiful, remote setting.

You will be responsible for delivering high -quality breakfast and lunch menus, alongside a curated, set -menu style dinner service. Beyond cooking, you will run the kitchen as a business, managing everything from inventory to financial cost controls.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Service: Hands -on preparation and execution of breakfast, lunch, and a high -quality set -menu dinner.
Financial Management: Overseeing kitchen costing, maintaining strict food cost percentages, and implementing cost controls.
Stock & Purchasing: Managing inventory, stock rotation, ordering, and supplier relations, keeping remote logistics in mind.
Menu Development: Keeping menus fresh, exciting, and optimized for seasonal availability.
Hygiene & Safety: Maintaining exceptionally high standards of kitchen cleanliness and food safety.

Requirements

Requirements & Qualifications

Education: Formal culinary arts qualification or relevant tertiary training.
Experience: Proven track record working in a professional kitchen, with essential experience operating in a remote or wilderness location.
Logistics: Valid driver’s license and your own reliable vehicle (non -negotiable due to location).
Attributes: Enthusiastic, self -motivated, financially minded, and able to work independently under minimal supervision.

Competitive salary of R20,000 – R25,000 pm based on experience.
