Legal Advisor

We are on the hunt for a Legal Advisor who is responsible for the rendering of professional legal advice and assistance to LAW for ALL policy holders. He/she will take down the policy holder’s instructions and advise the policy holder on matters ranging from Civil, Criminal, Bail, Family, Wills and Estates and Labour law. This will be done manually or electronically.

📝 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

🎓 LLB degree.
📚 Experience in a Legal Environment is advantageous

☎️ Atleast 1 year experience working in a Call Centre environment. 
🗣️ Ability to communicate effectively in two official African languages. (Preference: Zulu & Xhosa)

💻 Computer literate, excellent communication skills, and initiative.
🤝 Excellent team player.
🚀 Able to work without supervision.
😊 Positive and motivated individual.
🔍 Proactive and able to take initiative.

✍️ Strong drafting skills;

⏰ Ability to work shifts as/when required.

💼 RESPONSIBILITIES:

(Duties as set out below are not limited to same and any reasonable request made by LAW FOR ALL that relates to such duties and/or the employee’s abilities may be included in the employee’s responsibilities.)

• Legal Advisor is responsible for taking down comprehensive instructions and providing proper legal and policy advice to all Advice only policies, LIPCO Business requests, courtesy clients, lapsed and awaiting deduction policies


• In addition to the above, the female legal advisors attend to the Warrior and Woman Fight Back line by obtaining comprehensive instructions and providing comprehensive legal advice to clients on these lines
  


• Legal Advisors are responsible for taking a high number of calls from our new case legal lines throughout the day and attend to drafting cases to be auto allocated to the relevant legal department.  All calls should be answered within the prescribed time frame as set out in our SLA's.
  


• Should the client require legal assistance and the client has a mediation benefit, the legal Advisor should take a brief instruction and draft a case on Lawyerly. The Advisor should ensure that the correct field of law is selected so that the file is auto allocated to the correct department


• The Legal Advisor should always make the client aware of any applicable and/or potential policy exclusions and attend to the exclusionary letter where applicable.


• Legal Advisors attend to new case instructions directed to them via emails,  Xcally interactions (Email, Whats App & Social Media), Teams Groups, calls and walk-in consultations.


• Attending to all correspondence with client in a professional and friendly manner


• Legal Advisor should ensure that all correspondence with clients are recorded


• Assist on non-legal lines when required
