Job Description 

We're seeking a Marketing & Communications Manager to lead our marketing strategy, manage external communications, and elevate Avalonia’s brand presence across the industry. This role requires a strong balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution. You’ll oversee everything from PR and partnership announcements to website updates and act as Avalonia’s editor-in-chief, ensuring our content is consistent, compelling, and impactful.

As an early hire in this area, you’ll have the opportunity to build out our comms and marketing function, working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute Avalonia’s marketing and communications strategy, ensuring alignment with company goals.
• Help scale and build the marketing team by the end of Q1 of 2026.
• Lead public relations initiatives, including press outreach, partnership announcements, and industry visibility campaigns.
• Manage major website updates and new page development in Framer, ensuring the site reflects current positioning and supports lead generation.
• Act as editor-in-chief, overseeing content quality and consistency across blogs, announcements, social media, and documentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams to craft compelling narratives that highlight Avalonia’s value to developers, enterprises, and partners.
• Track, measure, and report on the effectiveness of marketing and comms efforts.

Required Skills 

• 5+ years of experience in marketing and communications, ideally within a technology or software company.
• Proven track record in marketing strategy and PR, with experience managing announcements and media outreach.
• Hands-on experience with website management tools (Framer or similar) for content and structural updates.
• Strong editorial skills with experience acting as an editor-in-chief or content lead, ensuring consistency in tone, accuracy, and storytelling.
• Exceptional writing and communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, async-first team environment.

Preferred Skills 

• Experience working in developer tools, open-source, or SaaS industries.
• Familiarity with the .NET ecosystem or other developer communities.
• Knowledge of SEO, content distribution, and analytics tools.
• Comfort working in a startup environment, wearing multiple hats and moving quickly.
