SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Consultant

Job Description - SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Consultant

We are seeking a talented SAP
SuccessFactors Employee Central (EC) Consultant to join Accenture's SAP
Practice in Johannesburg. In this role, you will serve as a Functional Expert

go-live and HyperCare.

You will bring deep hands-on
configuration knowledge of Employee Central and a solid understanding of HR
business processes. You will be articulate, client-facing, and capable of
leading design workshops, mentoring junior team members, and contributing to
Accenture's growing SuccessFactors practice. This role requires physical
presence on client sites across Johannesburg and South Africa, with occasional
travel as project demands require.

Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement &
Workshop Facilitation

  • Lead design workshops: plan, facilitate, and document
HR process design workshops, fit-gap sessions, and solution blueprint meetings
with business stakeholders at all levels.

  • Requirements gathering act as the primary
client-facing functional expert; elicit, document, and validate HR business
requirements, process designs, and data governance needs.

  • Trusted advisor: build strong, credible client
relationships; advise HR leaders on transformation roadmaps, data strategy, and
SuccessFactors platform capabilities aligned to their business objectives.

  • Stakeholder communication: prepare and present clear,
compelling project status reports, design decisions, and solution options to
senior leadership and client executive sponsors.

Objects, Generic Objects, Business Rules, Workflows, Role-Based Permissions
    (RBP), and Position Management.

Off, Time Sheet, and Absence Management within Employee Central, ensuring

  • Reporting & analytics: configure and deliver EC
    reporting using People Stories, Advanced Reporting, and custom dashboards;
support HR teams in interpreting and acting on workforce data.

Project Leadership & Team
Development

  • Workstream ownership: lead functional workstreams
across SAP Activate phases — Prepare, Explore, Realise, Deploy, and Run —
ensuring deliverables are on time, on scope, and of high quality.

  • Testing: lead and support unit testing,
string testing, end-to-end integration testing, and User Acceptance Testing
(UAT); drive defect resolution and sign-off activities.

  • Mentoring: coach and support junior
consultants on the team, sharing knowledge, reviewing their configuration
outputs, and supporting their professional development.

  • Innovation & best practice: bring industry best practices
and awareness of the SAP SuccessFactors product roadmap and AI-enabled HR
innovations to client engagements; proactively identify opportunities to
    enhance the solution.

  • Business development: contribute to pre-sales
activities, proposal development, solution presentations, and Accenture thought
leadership initiatives within the SAP/HR Technology space.

Requirements

  • Degree (preferred): a recognized university degree
in Information Technology, Human Resources, Business Administration,
Psychology, or a related field. An equivalent diploma combined with substantial
    relevant experience will be considered.

    certification:
mandatory. Candidates must hold a current, valid certification in SAP
    SuccessFactors Employee Central.

  • Additional module
    certifications:
one or more additional SuccessFactors certifications are strongly preferred and
    will differentiate candidates.

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central implementations with demonstrable, hands-on
involvement across all project phases from blueprinting through to go-live and
    post-go-live support.

capability in Employee Central — Foundation Objects, Generic Objects, Business
Rules, Position Management, Role-Based Permissions, and Employee Data
    workflows.

Employee Central Time Off and Absence Management in a South African or similar
legislative context (BCEA-compliant leave types, accruals, and carryover
    rules).

  • HR business process knowledge: solid understanding of core HR
processes — hire-to-retire, organisation management, job and position
structures, workforce administration, and HR data governance.

  • Workshop leadership: demonstrated ability to plan
and facilitate client-facing design workshops, process walk-throughs, and
fit-gap analyses with business stakeholders and HR leaders.

  • Communication &
    presentation:
articulate verbal and written communicator; able to produce polished functional
design documents, configuration workbooks, and status updates; confident
    presenting to HR/Finance audiences.

  • EC certification: SAP SuccessFactors Employee
Central certification is mandatory — candidates without certification will not
    be considered.

  • Location & availability: must be based in Johannesburg
(Gauteng) and willing to work physically on client sites as required.

Advantageous

  • Additional SF certifications: certification in one or more
additional SuccessFactors modules — Recruiting (RCM/RMK), Onboarding 2.0,
Performance & Goals, Compensation, Learning, or Succession — will be given
    preference.

  • ECP knowledge: familiarity with SAP Employee
Central Payroll (ECP) to support integration design discussions and joint
    delivery with the payroll workstream.

  • SAP BTP / CPI integration: experience with SAP Business
Technology Platform (BTP), Cloud Platform Integration (CPI), Integration
Centre, and OData APIs for SuccessFactors integrations.

  • AI & HR technology trends: awareness of AI-enabled HR
features within SuccessFactors (e.g., Joule, embedded analytics, skills
intelligence) and the ability to articulate their business value to clients.

  • Multi-country implementations: experience delivering Employee
Central across multiple African markets (e.g., Nigeria, Kenya, Botswana,
    Namibia) is a competitive advantage.

  • Pre-sales & thought
    leadership:
contribution to proposals, RFP responses, or internal knowledge-sharing
sessions within an HR technology consulting practice.
