School Shop Assistant

TO QUALIFY TO JOIN OUR TEAM AS A SCHOOL SHOP ASSISTANT YOU WOULD:

• Have a Grade 12 matric certificate.
• Have a min. of 2 years' experience working in a retail shop, preferably in a similar school environment to St John's D.S.G.
• Have experience working with retail systems and processes, e.g. POS, stock management, visual merchandising, order placement, goods receipting, etc.
• Be computer literate.
• Have experience dealing with different customers, e.g. parents and pupils.
• Be warm, engaging, resilient, honest, genuine, empathetic and kind.
• Have strong values that align to the Christian ethos of the school.
• Be fluent in English.
• Have a clear criminal clearance certificate.

OUR EXPECTATIONS ARE THAT YOU WOULD:

• Provide an exceptional level of service at the School Shop.
• Support the St John’s D.S.G School culture as well as its policies and procedures.
• Be able to lift heavy boxes and do physical retail work, such as packing / unpacking of products and merchandising the shop shelves at various heights.
• Be prepared to help clean the store as needed.
• Support the School Shop Manager in all retail areas and act as a backup when she is not there.
• Be prepared to work on occasional weekends when there are school events.
