Candidature Requirements: 

We are looking for a seasoned IT Scrum Master with 10+ years of experience to lead Agile teams onsite in South Africa. The ideal candidate is an expert in facilitating Scrum ceremonies, driving continuous improvement, and removing delivery obstacles. Proven track record in coaching cross-functional teams, fostering Agile best practices, and ensuring timely, high-quality project outcomes is essential. Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and servant leadership skills are required to build a culture of collaboration and accountability across diverse technology projects.

Areas of responsibility:

• Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to ensure disciplined Agile delivery.


• Coach and mentor cross-functional teams in Agile/Scrum best practices, fostering self-organization, accountability, and continuous improvement.


• Identify and remove impediments or blockers that hinder team progress, enabling smooth and efficient delivery cycles.


• Collaborate closely with product owners and stakeholders to maintain a well-groomed product backlog, clarify priorities, and ensure delivery alignment with business objectives.


• Track, measure, and report Agile metrics (velocity, burndown charts, etc.) for transparency, performance improvement, and data-driven decision-making.


• Champion a culture of open communication, trust, and psychological safety within teams, addressing conflicts and driving consensus as needed.


• Drive Agile and process transformation across the organization, leading communities of practice or training sessions for Agile adoption.


• Ensure adherence to organizational standards and compliance requirements, aligning team delivery with broader IT governance and strategic initiatives.

Must-have requirements:

• Minimum of 10+ years of experience leading Agile teams as a Scrum Master, with a proven track record of facilitating successful project deliveries, coaching teams in Agile best practices, and driving continuous improvement across complex technology environments.


• Agile & Scrum Expertise - In-depth knowledge of Agile principles, Scrum frameworks, and iterative software delivery.


• Facilitation & Coaching - Skilled in leading Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives) and coaching teams towards self-organization.


• Servant Leadership - Empowers and supports the team by removing impediments and fostering a collaborative environment


• Conflict Resolution - Capable of mediating conflicts, encouraging healthy debate, and facilitating consensus.


• Stakeholder Management - Strong skills in communicating with business stakeholders, product owners, and development teams.


• Change Management - Guides teams through transformation, fosters continuous improvement and adapts practices for organizational growth


• Metrics & Reporting - Tracks team performance using Agile metrics (velocity, burndown charts, throughput) and provides actionable insights.


• Process Improvement, Problem-Solving, Decision-Making & Emotional Intelligence

• Certified in any CSM/ (PSM I/II/III), (A-CSM), CSP, (SSM, SASM), (PMI-ACP)
