This role is based in our Cape Town office. As Marketing Design Specialist, you will report to the Chief Strategy Officer. From a high-level perspective, the core responsibilities that form your role are broken down into the following 8 categories:

Your Daily Tasks
The Marketing Design Specialist must deliver high-quality design, motion graphics, and video content across a range of marketing and client-facing materials. This role blends brand design, digital design, animation, and editing—ideal for a creator who enjoys producing polished, institutional-grade work.
You will collaborate closely with our Manager – Growth and Marketing Automation, to support campaign activations, digital content, and brand consistency
Strategy & Project Support:
Help prioritise and structure workloads across multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery.
Liaise with internal stakeholders and external partners to keep campaigns and deliverables on track.
Maintain shared calendars, timelines, and campaign planning documentation.
Brand & Visual Identity
Design marketing and client collateral, presentations, brochures, and digital assets.
Maintain and evolve Catalyst’s visual identity across all channels.
Produce clean, modern layouts aligned with brand guidelines.
Brand & Visual Identity Ensure consistent application of brand standards across all marketing assets.
Collaborate with design resources to brief and finalise visual materials.
Maintain an organised library of brand templates and collateral.
Motion Graphics & Video
Create 2D animated explainers and motion assets for social and web.
Edit short-form videos for marketing and internal initiatives.
Export and optimise files for digital platforms and presentations
Digital & Web Design
Create 2D animated explainers and motion assets for social and web.
Edit short-form videos for marketing and internal initiatives.
Export and optimise files for digital platforms and presentations
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work with marketing, sales, and executive teams to support key projects
Align creative assets to campaign requirements and performance insights
Risk and Compliance Responsibilities:
These responsibilities include the representation to the company’s Risk and Compliance perspective and include (but not limited to) the following tasks:
Governance Framework – Adherence to the governance framework and ensure cohesiveness across all teams, offices, and service lines.
Quality Control – Adhere to change controls and internal quality assurance
Compliance Culture - Working in tandem with the groups Head of Compliance and Governance to instill a culture that is centered around good governance and compliance.
Operational Controls - Driving and contributing to a culture of quality/excellence, through risk awareness and adherence to regulatory compliance standards and operational controls.
Regulatory Adherence - Ensuring an effective risk-based approach is adopted to meet all regulatory compliance procedures per jurisdiction.
Strategic Expectations
High-quality visual output across all marketing and client materials.
Strong, on-brand motion and video assets that enhance storytelling.
Reliable and consistent delivery in fast-paced campaigns.
Effective collaboration across functions and jurisdictions.
Share insights to enable development of new processes and procedures that will create business efficiency and support delivery of client excellence in service.
Maintain awareness of industry, regulatory, jurisdictional, and other trends that could affect the business.
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations staff, business users, project, and implementation managers to achieve desired and elegant solutions.
Identify potential risks and challenges that could impact the achievement of strategic goals.
Develop and implement contingency plans to mitigate risks.
Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
Provide strategic advice based on market insights to inform decision-making.
Develop and manage budgets for strategic initiatives.
Ensure capital adequacy and efficient allocation of resources.
Required Skills & Experience
Are you getting excited? We are! Before we get too carried away, there are a few requirements you’ll need to check off before you can apply for the position:
National Diploma in Graphic Design / Multimedia Design / Digital Media Design or Marketing with an advanced design component
4 – 6 years of experience in brand, digital, and motion design.
Strong portfolio demonstrating brand design, motion graphics, and video editing.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects).
Strong Figma skills for web and digital assets.
Ability to interpret briefs and execute clean visual design.
English comprehension and communication skills suitable for a global brand.
Preferred: experience in financial services, fintech, or corporate environments.
