Incomar Dynamics, a subsidiary within the Incomar group of companies is seeking a motivated individual to take up a Senior Composite Technician role within Incomar Dynamics. This individual will report directly to the Head of Prototype Manufacturing.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

• Senior Certificate.


• Applicable composite worker apprenticeship.


• Police clearance certificate (required prior to commencement of employment).

Required Skills, Experience and Key Qualities:

• 5+ years hands-on composite assembly and trimming experience with cured/prepreg parts, core materials, and secondary bonding.


• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, plybooks, GD&T, and assembly fixtures.


• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and process planning documents.


• Knowledge of quality assurance techniques applicable to composite manufacturing.


• Willingness to learn.


• Good communicator.


• Able to maintain strict confidentiality.


• Able to multitask.


• Self-motivated and output driven.


• High work capacity and ability to deliver under pressure.


• Quality driven with good attention to detail.


• Team player.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Proficient with trimming equipment: CNC trim tables, routers, waterjet or abrasive saws, and hand-finishing tools.


• Experience with adhesive bonding processes, sealants, insert installation, and basic fastening techniques.


• Skilled in dimensional inspection methods and usage of basic metrology tools (callipers, micrometers, height gauges).


• Experience with repair techniques for composite materials, as well as manufacturing of patterns, moulds.


• Familiarity with industry-specific software for process documentation and quality control.


• Previous work experience in the aerospace and defence industry.

Job Description:

• Composite Technician within the Production Department.


• Support and perform material, component, and tooling preparation, including trimming, drilling, cutting, and bonding of components into assemblies.

Composite Technician Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret technical drawings and process documents.


• Preparation of composite parts for assembly operations.


• Carry out part assembly bonding in bonding jigs.


• Trim and Drill Responsibilities:
  
  
  
  • Programming and operation of a robotic trimmer, and trim parts
  
  
  • Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  
  
  • Trim components and flashing to tolerances as specified in technical drawings.
  
  
  • Drill and cut cavities in components as specified in technical drawings.
  
  
  
  


• Ensure all composite materials are handled and stored properly.


• Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to determine the best approach for each project and to identify and resolve manufacturing challenges.


• Maintain accurate records of materials used and fabrication processes followed to support traceability and quality assurance efforts.


• Work within the Incomar quality standards.


• Adhere to safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.
