Senior Electrical & Automation Technician PLC Port Elizabeth

Requirements

• National Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (NQF 6).

• Trade Test qualification (Qualified Artisan).

• 8 years experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Strong PLC and robotics experience.

• Computer literacy (MS Office, ERP/MES systems).

Responsibilities

• Perform reactive, planned, and preventative maintenance on electrical equipment.

• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on production machinery.

• Conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurring breakdowns.

• Maintain and program PLCs and robotic systems.

• Ensure all maintenance tasks are properly recorded and closed.

• Support production teams with electrical and technical expertise.

• Ensure compliance with safety and operational procedures.

• Assist in controlling maintenance costs and reducing waste.

• Compliance - identify and report risks

• Provide ad hoc technical support throughout the factory

To provide electrical maintenance and technical support in a manufacturing environment to ensure high equipment availability, safety, and production performance.
