Job Description - Senior Group Financial Accountant
An exciting opportunity exists within Rewardsco Investments, the Group’s holding company, for a detail-oriented finance professional to join a dynamic finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the role supports the finance function across financial reporting, statutory compliance, tax, treasury, and operational finance within a multi-entity group structure.
What you'll Own :
Treasury & Cash Management
Support group cash flow planning and management
Execute intercompany and operational fund transfers
Maintain banking administration and transaction processing
Prepare and maintain bank reconciliations and bank charge schedules
Oversee credit card reconciliations and controls
Assist with foreign exchange transactions and monitoring
Support lease and liability calculations
Engage with banks on queries and ad hoc matters
Ensure compliance with SARB requirements
Process payments and support cash flow forecasting
Tax & SARS Compliance
Prepare and submit VAT, EMP, and income tax returns
Complete tax computations and supporting schedules
Manage SARS submissions, payments, and deadlines
Liaise with SARS on queries, verifications, and audits
Maintain compliance calendars for statutory obligations
Handle provisional tax submissions and payments
Group & Intercompany Accounting
Maintain group loan accounts, including interest calculations
Prepare shareholder loan statements
Assist with transfer pricing calculations and documentation
Maintain amortisation schedules (leases and financing)
Evaluate accounting and tax implications of new and existing products
Manage loan provisions and property reporting
Assist with management reporting and AFS drafting
Statutory Compliance & Governance
Ensure compliance with the Companies Act across all entities
Prepare and maintain board resolutions, statutory records, and shareholder statements
Manage CIPC requirements, including annual returns and beneficial ownership filings
Support governance processes, including AGMs
Assist with iXBRL submissions and regulatory compliance
Support FSCA audit requirements and monthly reporting
Liaise with insurance providers
Work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure full compliance
Systems & Process Optimisation
Utilise and maintain financial systems effectively
Identify and implement process improvements within finance workflows
Must have obtained a bachelor’s degree in accounting
2+ years post-graduate accounting experience preferred
Strong understanding of the Companies Act and governance requirements
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, word and PowerPoint
Solid tax knowledge and practical SARS experience
Experience in tax compliance, statutory reporting, or multi-entity environments will be advantageous
Clear ITC and criminal record
