Senior Interior Designer

Purpose: To lead design projects from concept through to handover, including technical detailing and council compliance. This role ensures aesthetic quality, buildability, and alignment with the Vortex 7-stage delivery method.

Key Responsibilities:

-Create and present space plans, 3D renders, and mood boards

-Translate concepts into detailed technical packs and compliance-ready documentation

-Oversee FF&E selections, materials sampling, and supplier engagements

-Support construction and council sign-off with site coordination

-Mentor junior designers and oversee documentation standards

Requirements:

-8+ years in commercial or retail design

-Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, SketchUp

-Proven experience with council processes and multidisciplinary teams

Qualifications and Professional Bodies:

-Degree in Interior Design / Architecture

-Registered with IID (Institute of Interior Design), or SACAP if architecture-qualified

Salary (Monthly, ZAR):

Junior: R18,000 R25,000

Mid-Level: R28,000 R35,000

Senior: R35,000 R45,000
