Job Purpose

To lead the development and enablement of credit solutions, decisioning capabilities and analytical frameworks that support business growth, operational efficiency and effective risk management. The role is responsible for translating business requirements into scalable credit solutions and ensuring successful implementation across stakeholders and platforms.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and delivery of credit solutions that support lending strategies, risk management objectives and customer outcomes.


• Drive the implementation and optimisation of credit decisioning systems, scorecards, strategies and analytical tools.


• Partner with Business, Risk, Operations and Technology teams to define and deliver credit capability enhancements.


• Translate complex business requirements into scalable and sustainable credit solutions.


• Ensure solutions are aligned to regulatory requirements, governance standards and organisational risk appetite.


• Utilise SAS, SQL and other analytical tools to support solution development, implementation and optimisation.


• Drive process automation and digitisation initiatives to improve efficiency, control and customer experience.


• Monitor solution effectiveness and recommend enhancements based on analytical insights and business performance.


• Facilitate stakeholder engagement and manage delivery across multiple projects and workstreams.


• Oversee testing, implementation and post-deployment monitoring of credit strategies and solutions.


• Ensure appropriate governance, documentation and audit readiness requirements are maintained.


• Lead continuous improvement initiatives that optimise credit processes, controls and operating models.


• Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver business value.


• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team focused on operational excellence, innovation and delivery.


• Support the achievement of strategic business objectives through effective planning, execution and performance management.

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

Preferred Qualification

• Postgraduate Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Data Science, Engineering or a related quantitative field, and CFA, FRM or CQF,

Minimum Experience Level

• 6-8 years' experience in credit risk, credit decisioning, analytics or a related banking environment.


• 3-5 years' experience leading specialist analytics, credit strategy or enablement teams.


• Proven experience implementing and optimising credit strategies, scorecards and decisioning solutions.


• Advanced SAS and SQL experience is essential.
  Experience working with credit decision engines, business rules implementation and solution deployment.


• Proven stakeholder management experience across Risk, Business, Operations and Technology teams.


• Experience delivering complex business and technology-enabled initiatives.


• Experience driving process automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
