Job Summary
The Senior Manager: Management Information is responsible for defining and executing the strategy, operating model and delivery roadmap for credit and capital management information (MI) across Business Banking Risk. This role ensures the development of high quality reporting, base analytics and insights that enable data driven decision making, while embedding strong governance, best practice standards and scalable delivery frameworks.Job Description
1. Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of MI solutions
Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of dashboards, reports, datasets and analytical deliverables tailored to the needs of Business Banking Risk.
Enable cross‑functional delivery by coordinating work across diverse specialist disciplines and ensuring capacity, prioritization and timelines are effectively managed.
Ensure MI outputs are intuitive, business‑relevant and aligned to stakeholder expectations.
2. Elevate MI from reporting to actionable intelligence
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration within the function.
Expand the team’s focus beyond standard reporting to deliver insights that highlight trends, risks, opportunities and dependencies.
Guide and empower direct and indirect reports to deepen analytical capability and influence business decisions.
3. Champion integration into business processes
Ensure alignment of MI solutions with business goals, regulatory requirements, and enterprise data strategies.
Support the development and adoption of tools, methodologies and behavioral change required to drive a data‑driven culture.
4. Engage stakeholders to define and deliver MI and analytics requirements
Partner with stakeholders to define reporting requirements and deliver insights and analytics to enable decision making.
Partner with stakeholders to define new system or reporting requirements and review existing practices for improvements.
Translate challenges into structured requirements and ensure solutions are responsive, scalable and relevant.
Facilitate continuous dialogue with stakeholders to refine deliverables and improve business value.
5. Drive system and reporting enhancements
Identify opportunities for efficiency, automation, simplification and optimization in current processes and reporting practices.
Lead the definition of new system or reporting requirements and collaborate with technology teams to ensure solution feasibility and delivery.
Continuously review existing reporting frameworks to eliminate duplication, clarify ownership and enhance usefulness.
6. Ensure integrity and governance
Oversee the centralized RDARR oversight capability within the team.
Oversee the creation, maintenance and certification of datasets on MI and data platforms.
Enforce adherence to data governance principles, ensuring data quality, accuracy, lineage, and controlled access.
Promote the use of trusted, golden sources of information across all MI teams and stakeholders
7. Build a unified and scalable MI ecosystem
Partner with MI teams across other verticals and enabling functions to promote a shared roadmap of technologies, methodologies and standards.
Advocate for common tools, templates and delivery practices that enhance consistency, interoperability and scalability.
Influence enterprise MI strategies through collaborative leadership and proactive engagement
8. Foster a culture of excellence, innovation and collaboration
Create an environment that encourages continuous improvement, experimentation and the adoption of new technologies or methods.
Invest in building team capabilities, supporting professional development and nurturing talent across technical and analytical disciplines.
Promote collaboration, knowledge sharing and collective problem‑solving.
Required Skills
Management Information (MI) Development: Expertise in designing and delivering reports, dashboards, datasets and analytical solutions.
Data Analysis & Interpretation: Ability to extract insights from large, complex datasets and translate them into meaningful recommendations.
Data Modelling & Architecture: Understanding of database structures, data pipelines, and integration across multiple platforms.
Data Visualization: Proficiency in tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik or similar.
Business Intelligence Tools & Technologies: Experience with SQL, ETL tools, cloud data platforms, and enterprise MI systems.
Data Governance & Quality Management: Strong grasp of data lineage, data standards, golden sources, and data integrity controls (RDARR).
Process Automation: Familiarity with workflow optimization, automation tools and simplification methodologies.
Microsoft proficiency: Expertise in Excel and PowerPoint.
Business Acumen: Understanding of risk management, business banking and financial services context.
Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to understand business needs, manage expectations and translate them into technical requirements.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Change Management: Ability to guide adoption of new systems, processes and insights across diverse teams. Strong planning, project management and prioritization capabilities.
Continuous Improvement: Ability to identify and drive opportunities for process, technology and reporting optimization.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as: Information Systems, Data Science / Data Analytics, Computer Science, Business Intelligence, Risk Management / Finance (if role sits within a Risk function)
Advantageous certifications: Microsoft certifications (Power BI, Azure Data Fundamentals, Azure Data Engineer), SQL / Database Engineering certifications, Data Governance certifications (e.g., DAMA), Analytics certifications (e.g., SAS, Tableau), Project / Change certifications (e.g., Agile, Prince2, Scrum)
Work Experience:
8–10 years of experience in Management Information (MI), Business Intelligence (BI), Data Analytics, or related data‑focused roles.
3–5 years of leadership experience managing multidisciplinary technical teams.
Bachelor's Degree: Information Technology
