Senior Project Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Project Manager to lead the successful execution of complex engineering projects. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with contractual and technical requirements. The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving cross-functional collaboration, managing project risks, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

This opportunity is ideal for a strong leader with extensive project management experience in highly technical, multi-disciplinary environments.

Qualification & experience

• Minimum Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, preferably a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification.


• Minimum of 6 years’ Project Management experience.


• Formal Project Management training required.


• Experience in the development, integration, and evaluation of complex multi-disciplinary systems within the aerospace or radar systems environment will be highly advantageous.


• Proven track record of successful team leadership and stakeholder management.


• Experience in defining, implementing, and leading project risk management processes.

Key technical skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and OfficeTimeline tools.


• Strong understanding of project/programme management methodologies including PRINCE II, PMBOK, and Agile.


• Experience working with engineering data packs, assembly documentation, and test procedures.


• Knowledge of project governance, cost control, scheduling, procurement, and reporting processes.


• Ability to manage technical, commercial, and operational risks across the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Governance

Lead the planning and execution of projects by establishing robust governance structures, defining project scope, managing schedules and budgets, allocating resources, and ensuring compliance with project management processes and contractual milestones.

2. Project Delivery & Execution

Drive successful project execution by coordinating cross-functional teams, monitoring performance against cost, schedule, and quality objectives, managing procurement activities, facilitating gate reviews, and ensuring delivery milestones are achieved in line with customer expectations.

3. Risk & Stakeholder Management

Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle while maintaining effective communication with internal stakeholders, executive management, customers, suppliers, and procurement teams to ensure alignment and informed decision-making.

4. Technical & Quality Assurance

Collaborate with engineering, systems, quality assurance, and external suppliers to ensure technical solutions meet operational, quality, maintainability, and production requirements, while ensuring adherence to systems engineering and quality control frameworks.

5. Project Closure & Continuous Improvement

Ensure effective project handover and closure through technical and financial reviews, documentation of lessons learned, identification of improvement opportunities, and delivery of comprehensive project closure reports and recommendations.
