As a Project Manager II within the Data & Analytics environment, you will be responsible for driving medium to large-scale strategic initiatives that span multiple business units, stakeholder groups, and technology platforms.

Job Purpose

To manage and deliver medium to large projects from commencement to completion, ensuring the project goals/objectives are accomplished within the prescribed scope, budget, quality and time agreed. Projects could be associated with any discipline e.g. property, engineering, information technology, in line with the business strategy. The methodologies used for projects include Waterfall, Hybrid, Agile and Milestone Tracking.

The Senior Project Manager will play an active role in providing mentorship and coaching on agile best practices to junior staff and project teams. The Senior Project Manager will also ensure that the team is working on the right tasks at the right time, working closely with the product manager to translate epics, stories and other items on the backlog into actionable tasks for the delivery team.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver medium to large-scale projects and programmes from initiation through to implementation.


• Develop, maintain and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, risks, issues and dependencies.


• Ensure compliance with PMO governance frameworks, processes and reporting requirements.


• Facilitate stakeholder engagement and communication across all levels of the organisation.


• Monitor project performance and proactively manage scope, budget and timeline variances.


• Ensure project benefits are identified, tracked and realised throughout the project lifecycle.


• Manage project-related risks, issues, blockers and change control processes.


• Coordinate cross-functional teams and multiple workstreams to achieve project objectives.


• Maintain accurate project information within approved project management tools and repositories.


• Support the delivery of projects using Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid methodologies.


• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across project management practices.


• Build trusted relationships with stakeholders and manage expectations throughout project delivery.


• Support change management activities to ensure successful implementation and adoption.

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

Minimum Experience Level

• 5 to 8 years' experience within a project management environment.


• At least 5 years' experience managing projects in a Project Manager, Delivery Manager, or equivalent capacity.


• Experience managing complex medium to large business and technology projects and programmes.


• Experience managing multiple projects and workstreams simultaneously.


• Experience engaging and influencing senior stakeholders.


• Experience managing project budgets, governance, risks and reporting.


• Exposure to Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid delivery methodologies.


• Experience using project management tools such as Jira, Microsoft Project and SharePoint.


• Banking or financial services experience will be advantageous.
