Senior Technical Systems Analyst | Legacy Platform Modernisation | .NET / Azure

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Technical Systems Analyst to join a high -performing technology team working on a major legacy platform modernisation programme.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys understanding complex enterprise applications and uncovering how existing systems really work. You will play a key role in analysing legacy applications to identify business rules, integrations, data dependencies and system behaviour, producing the technical documentation required to support future migration and modernisation initiatives.

Working within a Microsoft technology environment, you will collaborate with Architects, Developers, Business stakeholders and Test Teams to build a clear understanding of the current platform and support future solution design.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse complex legacy enterprise applications and document current system behaviour.
  
• Investigate business rules, integrations, data flows and system dependencies.
  
• Analyse application code, database structures and interfaces to understand how existing systems function.
  
• Produce clear technical and functional documentation to support platform modernisation.
  
• Document APIs, system integrations and data dependencies.
  
• Work closely with Architects, Developers and Business stakeholders to validate findings.
  
• Support solution design, migration planning and Agile delivery activities.
  

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Senior Technical Systems Analyst, Technical Systems Analyst, Application Analyst, Solution Analyst, Technical Business Analyst or similar technical analysis role.
  
• Experience analysing complex enterprise or legacy applications.
  
• Strong understanding of Microsoft .NET application environments.
  
• Ability to investigate existing systems and determine business rules, integrations and application behaviour.
  
• Experience with APIs, systems integration and SQL.
  
• Experience with SQL Server databases.
  
• Experience using Jira, Azure DevOps and Confluence.
  
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
  
• Excellent analytical, documentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
  

Highly Advantageous

• Banking, Financial Services or FinTech experience.
  
• Microsoft Azure exposure.
  
• Legacy application modernisation or migration experience.
  
• Experience working with stored procedures, interfaces and enterprise integrations.
