In the role of Senior Travel Consultant - Inbound Groups, you will play a crucial role in understanding and fulfilling our customers' needs by designing, proposing, and securing large, high-value, or complex group travel arrangements.
As a Senior Travel Consultant - Inbound Groups, you will:
Design and prepare innovative and competitive group travel proposals for our customers.
Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to produce customized, curated itineraries and proposals.
Work closely with the Sales and Group Operations teams to convert opportunities into successful bookings.
Ensure that every confirmed proposal is handed over to Group Operations efficiently and promptly.
Stay updated with market trends to bring fresh, creative ideas to our proposals.
The perfect candidate excels in a fast-paced, detail-orientated environment and understands the specific logistics involved with group travel.
What we are looking for:
Extensive Experience: Proven experience in inbound group travel proposals (minimum of 5 years).
In-depth Knowledge of Southern Africa: Strong familiarity with destinations, travel products, and services in South and Southern Africa is essential.
Excellent Communication and Presentation Skills: Necessary for effectively interacting with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate favourable rates and services, with strong influencing skills.
Organizational Skills: A strong sense of urgency and the ability to manage high volumes of requests, tasks, and deadlines simultaneously.
Detail-oriented: Remarkable attention to detail is crucial for creating accurate proposals, itineraries, and quality control.
Proactive: Innovation and the ability to identify opportunities and resolve challenges.
Team Player: Capable of working effectively as part of a team and mentoring junior team members as needed.
