The role
At Nile, we see roles as an opportunity for personal development. As our business grows, so will the scope of your role. Today, our team requires a Snr Procurement Manager report directly to one of our Directors. The successful applicant will take ownership of the following functions:
Cultivating and maintaining strong, strategic relationships with key farmers.
Collaborating with the software engineering team to drive improvements in sourcing systems and processes.
Working closely with Nile’s logistics team to enhance overall supply chain efficiency.
Developing management metrics and reporting to rigorously track the performance of the sourcing function.
Managing a team of farmer relationship managers, with each specializing in a specific fresh produce category or growing region.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
5–10 years of progressive experience in fresh produce procurement, ideally gained at retailers, exporters, aggregators, or traders.
Proven experience in managing and leading a team.
A quick learner, capable of adapting swiftly to the complexity of a hyper-growth start-up environment.
An analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex problems in a pragmatic way.
Experience with the implementation of new supply chain systems and/or processes.
