Overview
We’re looking for a mid to senior-level Social Media & Content Specialist to join our fast-paced, high-performance team. This isn’t a cushy "just post pretty pictures" type of job. It’s for someone who is ready to work hard, move fast, and take full ownership of our digital content and social media presence.

You’ll be responsible for conceptualising, creating and executing high-quality content across all our platforms, from real-time content at races and events, to storytelling that connects with our running and cycling communities, to generating filler and trending content that keeps our channels fresh and engaging. This is a demanding role that requires creative thinking, a hands-on attitude, and the ability to deliver under pressure. We want someone who understands the Versus audience and industry inside and out and who’s ready to help take our content to the next level.


Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation & Execution

• Plan, shoot and edit original, on-brand content for our platforms
  
• Deliver high-quality video and photo content with a focus on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Strava
  
• Attend and capture content at races, events, shoots and launches
  
• Maintain and build an organised, up-to-date content library for the brand
  

Social Media & Community Management

• Own, manage and post the full content calendar across all platforms
  
• Engage with our community daily through DMs, comments and tagged content
  
• Build authentic relationships with our followers and actively participate in our digital community
  
• Collaborate with athletes, ambassadors and influencers for content and engagement
  
• You need to have a real passion for our active community and a deep understanding of who they are
  
• Stay on top of digital trends, platform updates and online culture
  

Content Strategy & Performance

• Work with the marketing team on campaigns, launches and storytelling
  
• Analyse content performance and optimise based on insights
  
• Provide monthly reports with actionable recommendations
  

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of proven experience in content creation, social media and digital marketing
  
• Confident in photography and videography for social media, and skilled with tools like Lightroom, CapCut, Adobe Rush, Canva, etc.
  
• Strong design sense with the ability to produce polished, on-brand content
  
• Excellent writing and captioning skills with a clear, confident tone of voice
  
• Passionate about sport and fitness, especially running, cycling and the active lifestyle world
  
• Highly organised, self-driven and able to manage multiple priorities
  
• Comfortable working weekends, after-hours and attending events on occasion
  
• Not afraid of hard work, you’ll be in the field just as much as you’re at your desk
  

Nice to Have

• Experience working with performance or lifestyle brands
  
• Experience managing athlete or ambassador content
  
• Familiarity with the local sports community in South Africa
