Job Description - Solutions Architect (Intermediate)

What you will be doing:

Design, document, and support technical solutions across applications, infrastructure, and integrations.
Translate business requirements into functional and technical architecture in collaboration with stakeholders.
Enforce architectural standards and ensure compliance with IT governance and security policies.
Integrate AI capabilities (chatbots, automation, data-driven insights) into enterprise solutions and support AI projects.
Stay up to date on emerging technologies (AI/ML, cloud-native) and apply security best practices.
Align designs with internal and regulatory security frameworks; support audits and risk assessments.
Communicate proposed solutions clearly to stakeholders and ensure alignment with business goals.
Participate in architecture reviews and technical planning.
Identify opportunities for system improvements, automation, and efficiency gains.
Provide technical input for vendor evaluations and tool assessments.
Mentor junior team members and promote knowledge sharing.

What our client is looking for:

A relevant tertiary qualification would be beneficial (Computer Science, IT, Engineering, etc.).
Relevant certifications preferred (AWS, Azure Solution Architect, AWS/Azure Cloud Certification, TOGAF, etc.).
3-5 years of IT experience, with 1-2 years in a solution/security design or architecture support role.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Exposure to practical application of AI/ML technologies in business systems.
Strong understanding of IT solution design (applications, integrations, data, infrastructure).
Familiarity with APIs, microservices, containerization, and DevOps practices.
Knowledge of AI concepts like machine learning, NLP, or automation tools.
Understanding of security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST) and cloud security best practices.
Comfortable in agile and structured project environments.
