Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join the culinary team of a luxury wine estate based in Franschhoek. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and creative individual to work in a refined hospitality environment, supporting the Head Chef in delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations.
  




• Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to the highest standards.
  




• Supervise and train junior kitchen staff.
  




• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
  




• Contribute to menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal and locally sourced produce.
  




• Maintain stock control and assist with ordering and supplier management.
  




• Support with managing kitchen budgets and cost controls.
  

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong background as a Junior Sous Chef in fine dining or luxury hospitality.
  




• Culinary qualification or relevant professional training.
  




• Excellent leadership and organisational skills.
  




• Strong knowledge of modern cooking techniques and international cuisine.
  




• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  




• Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.
  

Package:

• Salary: R15,000 – R18,000 per month, negotiable depending on experience.
