Sous Chef | Luxury Wine Estate | Franschhoek
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join the culinary team of a luxury wine estate based in Franschhoek. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and creative individual to work in a refined hospitality environment, supporting the Head Chef in delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations.
Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to the highest standards.
Supervise and train junior kitchen staff.
Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
Contribute to menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal and locally sourced produce.
Maintain stock control and assist with ordering and supplier management.
Support with managing kitchen budgets and cost controls.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong background as a Junior Sous Chef in fine dining or luxury hospitality.
Culinary qualification or relevant professional training.
Excellent leadership and organisational skills.
Strong knowledge of modern cooking techniques and international cuisine.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.
Package:
Salary: R15,000 – R18,000 per month, negotiable depending on experience.
