Our client is a specialist sports and travel business that creates travel solutions for sporting environments, schools, youth groups and group travel markets. The business is relationship -led and requires a sales professional who understands both tourism sales and the school/youth sporting environment.
Role Overview
This role focuses on sourcing, developing and converting new business within the youth sports travel environment. The successful candidate will identify opportunities, build relationships, manage CRM activity, prepare proposals and help grow revenue across inbound and outbound youth travel markets. This is a proactive business development role that requires structured sales discipline, strong follow -up and the ability to work with schools, clubs and youth -related decision -makers.
Key Responsibilities
Execute the sports and events sales strategy within the youth market under the guidance of sales leadership.
Identify opportunities in the youth, school and sports group travel environment, both inbound to South Africa and outbound.
Source, identify and obtain new local and international business within the youth environment.
Build and retain strong relationships with schools, youth groups, sports clubs, coaches, parents and relevant stakeholders.
Generate leads from existing and new clients and maintain consistent follow -up on current and future business.
Prepare accurate proposals, tenders, bid documents and presentations to secure new business.
Manage sales calls, CRM activity, pipeline records and database updates using prescribed systems.
Monitor competitor pricing, market trends and client feedback to keep the division competitive.
Work closely with operations and other business units to ensure promises made during the sales process can be delivered.
Recommend supplier products and align with suppliers to maximise benefits for the youth market.
Attend exhibitions, trade shows and industry events where necessary.
Remain flexible to travel with a group or assist outside normal office hours when required.
Requirements
Matric certificate is required.
A Travel and Tourism qualification is required or strongly preferred.
Minimum 3 to 5 years sales experience within the tourism industry, inbound and outbound, is required.
Previous knowledge of the school environment is essential.
Tourplan experience is essential.
Zoho or CRM experience would be an advantage.
Must have strong sales discipline, relationship -building ability and follow -up skills.
Must be able to prepare professional proposals, presentations and client communication.
Strong understanding of sports, youth travel or school group travel will be highly advantageous.
Must be target driven, proactive and comfortable working across teams.
