Position: Storytelling and Projects Manager (secondment)


Location:   Any ActionAid country office


Contract duration:  Immediate start - 31 December 2025


Closing date:  3 July 2025 at 17.00 GMT (7 days)

The Role:


Do you have a passion for developing storytelling strategies, identifying and creating impactful, compelling stories that emerge from programmes, influencing, and campaign work? Are you skilled in stakeholder engagement, relationship and capacity building to ensure regular, high-quality content across the Federation for members to use and to enhance the organisation’s external communications profile? This may just be the role for you.


 


Our Comms and campaigns team is looking for a Storytelling and Projects Manager (secondment) who will develop a storytelling strategy for the ActionAid Federation that reflects our history, identity, priorities, and impact. Identify and cultivate impactful and compelling narratives that emerge from the ActionAid program, with the aim of enhancing our influence and effectiveness in campaign initiatives. Promote, Facilitate, and support the widespread use of storytelling throughout the Federation. Communicate ActionAid Federation’s stories externally.

Who we're looking for: 


We are looking for someone who has:


 



  • At least four years of experience in strategic storytelling for non-governmental organizations and campaigning bodies.

  • A high level of competence in Adobe Photoshop, Premier Pro, In Design and relevant Creative Cloud Packages and graphics programmes.

  • Demonstrated experience in planning and coordinating priorities, as well as in developing processes and tools for effective planning.

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly establish productive working relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders.

  • Extensive experience in a multimedia communications production environment.

  • Proven ability to commission, direct, edit, and curate multimedia products, as well as work with freelancers.

  • Skilled in managing complex projects that involve multiple teams and diverse needs.

  • Proficient in photography and videography, including shooting, editing, and delivering various formats, with a proven ability to enhance engagement.

  • Capable of archiving materials and maintaining a multimedia library.

  • Capable of transforming complex information into engaging public messages.


 


You should also have strong commitment to ActionAid’s values and ethos, including ActionAid’s feminist leadership principles.
