 Job Purpose

• To provide strategic ownership and governance of Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance and Medical Affairs digital systems, automation platforms, data analytics and business transformation initiatives across One Africa.

• The role is responsible for translating business requirements into digital solutions that improve compliance, operational efficiency, portfolio visibility, lifecycle management and decision making through automation, analytics and technology enablement. The role provides specialist systems architecture, troubleshooting and business continuity expertise across the Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance and Medical Affairs ecosystem and serves as the primary escalation point for complex business system issues and digital platform failures.

• The incumbent serves as the primary business owner and subject matter expert for critical regulatory systems, reporting platforms, workflow tools and digital transformation programmes, while driving process optimisation, data governance, AI enablement and cross-functional stakeholder engagement across Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, Medical Affairs, Digital and Global functions.

 Accountabilities

• Provides regulatory intelligence to Cipla OneAfrica RA Managers/Executives/ RA OneAfrica Director and CEO as needed related to Systems and Processes and data Analytics.


• Ensure New Dossier and the Life cycle management registration activities are reported regularly.


• Regulatory/Medical/PV Systems Ownership & Governance.


• Delivery of Systems and Processes in Regulatory.


• Manages and oversees RA Operations teams.


• Digital Transformation & Automation.


• Systems Architecture, Troubleshooting & Business Continuity.


• Stakeholder Management.


• People Management responsibilities.


• Innovation, AI & Future Capability Development.

 Qualification and Relevant Experience

• B. Pharm or BSC. or higher post graduate scientific degree.

Relevant experience:

• Minimum 4 years of experience in the regulatory function


• Attention to detail, Resilience, Collaborative approach, time-management, good communication skills, team player, IT skills an advantage, Project management


• Proficient knowledge of the Medicines and Related Substances Act No. 101 of 1965 and related SAHPRA regulations/guidelines, GMP/GLP/GCP, EMA.


• Proficient knowledge of the Pharmacy Act No. 53 of 1974, regulations thereto, the guidelines on Good Pharmacy Practice and Code of Conduct of a pharmacist.


• Advanced understanding of Regulatory Information Management Systems (RIMS), workflow platforms, automation technologies and reporting solutions.


• Strong understanding of system architecture, system integrations and data governance concepts.


• Demonstrated expertise in root-cause analysis, troubleshooting and resolution of complex business system issues.


• Experience supporting large-scale system implementations, migrations, testing and validation activities.


• Ability to translate technical system issues into business impacts and solutions.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve complex operational challenges.
