Talent Pool - Web3 Financial Accountant

The Web3 Financial Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting Foundation Services business by overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and maintaining high service standards within the digital asset space. This role scope includes full financial oversight, operational improvements, and strategic financial planning.

The ideal candidate will act as a financial manager for Foundation clients, ensuring financial stability, regulatory compliance, and efficient financial operations.

Main Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

• Oversee the full finance function, ensuring seamless operations across financial activities.


• Act as the primary financial contact for clients, managing day-to-day financial operations, financial reporting, and governance adherence.


• Provide outsourced accounting services, including maintaining books and records, transaction management, and reconciliations.


• Manage payments, ensuring appropriate approvals in line with Cayman regulatory requirements.


• Prepare quarterly management accounts, including financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow).


• Develop and monitor budgeting and runway analysis for clients.


• Track KPIs and financial performance metrics, benchmarking against agreed parameters.


• Prepare and present transparency reports that can be delivered to the community/Board of directors.

Compliance & Regulatory Oversight

• Oversee, manage and liaise with the Compliance team to conduct KYC and due diligence checks on grant proposals and financial transactions.


• Support the asministration and monitor banking and custody accounts, ensuring compliance with operational and commercial terms.


• Ensure financial policies and procedures align with governance frameworks and industry best practices.

Operations & Process Optimization

• Develop and implement policies and procedures related to payments via 1) wallets for digital asset payments and 2) banking rails for fiat based payments.


• Manage the KYC/wallet screening process to mitigate financial risks and ensure regulatory compliance.


• Support clients with financial operations and provide weekly financial updates, policy reviews and integrations with service providers.


• Maintain strong relationships with financial service providers, ensuring seamless collaboration and service delivery.


• Oversee financial administration and ensure adherence to high operational standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

BCom/Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

Bonus: CA, AGA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent finance qualifications.

If not qualified, 2-3 years of post-graduation experience in a finance role is required.

Experience

• Strong background in financial statement reporting and bookkeeping.


• Experience with budgeting, financial planning, and cash flow management.


• Familiarity with Web3, Blockchain, Crypto, or Digital Assets (preferred but not mandatory).


• Strong understanding of payments, financial controls, and compliance.


• Prior experience managing KYC, due diligence, and regulatory requirements in a financial setting.
