If you’re looking to join a forward-thinking, fast-paced, and inclusive global team that values both results and relationships, you’ll feel right at home here.

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Technical Associate to join our team, specializing in industrial automation and power systems. In this role, you will support engineering, implementation, and troubleshooting activities related to variable frequency drives (VFDs), motor control systems, and broader industrial automation solutions.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with power systems, strong analytical thinking, and a commitment to delivering high-quality technical support to both internal teams and end users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve equipment faults, VFD configuration issues, and field-level automation problems

  • Support both remote and on-site diagnostics as required

System Configuration & Commissioning

  • Assist with programming, commissioning, and startup of VFDs and motor control systems

  • Support installation and calibration of industrial electrical components

  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, including wiring diagrams and service reports

  • Document issue resolutions and develop technical guides for recurring problems

  • Contribute to engineering documentation and compliance reporting

Client & Project Support

  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and technical sales teams to meet client requirements

  • Support solution design, proposals, and technical pre-sales activities

  • Ensure timely resolution of support cases and contribute to continuous service improvement

Product & Technology Expertise

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of PFlex VFDs, PLC systems, and industrial Ethernet protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, Modbus), as well as HMI technologies

  • Stay informed on industry standards, safety regulations, and emerging automation trends

Qualifications & Skills

  • National Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field

  • 1–3 years of experience in industrial automation, electrical systems, or VFD technologies

  • Hands-on experience with PFlex drives (e.g., 525, 753, 755) and motor control applications

  • Familiarity with Rockwell Automation tools, PLC programming, or industrial networking is advantageous

  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control diagrams

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills

What We Offer

  • Benefits: Medical aid allowance, provident fund (self-funded), group life cover, and funeral cover

  • Training: Comprehensive training programmes to enhance technical, leadership, and customer service skills

  • Career Growth: Opportunities for advancement and professional development within a global organisation
