Technical Specialist: Reality Capture

SQ1 Recruitment is assisting a well -established technology business in the geospatial and digital reality capture space with the search for a technically strong, client -facing professional to support the growth and delivery of advanced reality capture solutions.

This opportunity will primarily support a specialist subsidiary focused on the AEC and built environment market, with potential broader involvement across related geospatial solutions depending on the successful candidate’s strengths and experience. The title of the role is flexible and may be shaped around the right individual.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Delivery & Support

• Lead the delivery and support of 3D laser scanning and reality capture solutions
  

• Process, register, analyse, and manage point cloud datasets
  

• Provide technical input on scanning methodologies and data capture strategies
  

• Support scan -to -BIM and wider digital integration workflows
  

• Assist with implementation, onboarding, user adoption, and post -sale support
  

Client Engagement & Solution Support

• Partner with the sales team as the technical subject matter expert in client engagements
  

• Deliver technical demonstrations, presentations, and workflow discussions
  

• Help scope client requirements and recommend fit -for -purpose solutions
  

• Contribute to proposals, solution documentation, and pre -sales support
  

• Build trusted relationships with clients across the geospatial, AEC, and facilities management sectors
  

Requirements

Candidate Requirements (Must -Have)

• 3–6 years’ experience in reality capture (AEC, engineering, surveying, or similar)
  

• Hands -on experience with 3D laser scanning and point cloud / scan -to -BIM workflows
  

• Strong understanding of digital construction or asset management workflows
  

• Confident communicator with both technical and non -technical stakeholders
  

• Commercial awareness and willingness to travel
  

• Based in Gauteng or Western Cape
  

Nice to Have

• Experience with Trimble and/or NavVis technologies
  

• Exposure to SLAM scanning solutions
  

• Familiarity with CDE platforms (e.g. Autodesk Construction Cloud, Trimble Connect)
  

• Experience in training, demos, or client -facing technical support
  

• Existing network within AEC or facilities management
  

Benefits

• Target package around R60 000 CTC per month.
