The technical team supports production reliability in a regulated food environment requiring strong compliance and practical technical capability.
Role Overview
The Technician will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, respond to breakdowns, support equipment uptime and ensure safe technical operations across the manufacturing facility. The role requires a qualified mechanical or electrical trade background, strong fault -finding ability and practical experience in FMCG or manufacturing maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on production and manufacturing equipment.
Respond to breakdowns quickly to reduce downtime and restore production safely.
Complete job cards, check sheets, maintenance logs and downtime reports accurately.
Perform mechanical, electrical, piping, plumbing, refrigeration or general maintenance duties according to skill set.
Support fault -finding, root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
Assist with procurement processes relating to technical parts, spares and maintenance services where required.
Maintain compliance with OSH Act requirements, food safety standards and site procedures.
Ensure tools, equipment and maintenance work areas are clean, safe and properly controlled.
Work with production teams to prioritise maintenance work and minimise operational disruption.
Support team leadership, training and technical guidance where required.
Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, safety and maintenance efficiency.
Participate in standby, overtime or after -hours maintenance support when required by operations.
Requirements
Grade 12 is required.
Technical trade test in Mechanical or Electrical is required.
3 to 5 years engineering experience in an FMCG environment is required.
Electrical maintenance, mechanical maintenance, piping, plumbing and refrigeration exposure is advantageous.
Food safety, OSH Act and manufacturing compliance knowledge is required.
Strong fault -finding, breakdown response and technical problem -solving ability are essential.
Must be able to prioritise worklists and support maintenance team productivity.
Must be able to commute reliably to Malmesbury or relocate at own cost.
