Telesales Representative (FMCG) - Montague Gardens, Cape Town - Salary R13,700 + Commission

An exciting opportunity exists in the frozen food industry for a driven and performance-oriented Telesales Representative to join a fast-paced, customer-focused team. This role reports directly to the Sales Manager and is responsible for closing sales deals over the phone while maintaining strong customer relationships.

Seniority level and responsibilities will be determined by years of telesales experience and book size management.

Key Responsibilities

Sales

• Contact potential and existing clients using scripts to promote products and services

• Handle inquiries and explain product features clearly and effectively

• Identify customer needs and close sales

• Direct leads to field sales when appropriate

• Accurately place and process orders

• Ensure sufficient stock levels and advise clients accordingly

• Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and system skills (e.g., IQ program)

• Stay informed on market and promotional trends

Administration

• Update and maintain customer database records

• Log calls and track sales activity for review

Customer Service

• Address and resolve customer complaints

• Go the extra mile to meet targets and support client growth

• Upsell and cross-sell lesser-known products

Teamwork

• Support department managers and colleagues

• Participate in team initiatives and ad hoc tasks as needed

Housekeeping & Safety

• Maintain cleanliness of workspace and uphold hygiene standards

• Comply with safety protocols and wear PPE

• Participate in Occupational Health & Safety activities when required

Requirements

Education & Language:

• Grade 12

• Fluent in Afrikaans and English (written and spoken)

Experience:

• Proven success in telesales or similar customer service role

• Track record of consistently meeting or exceeding phone-based sales targets
