Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a passionate and highly qualified Trails Guide for a luxury 5-star private game lodge located within the renowned Madikwe Game Reserve.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced field guide who is committed to delivering exceptional wildlife experiences while maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism and guest engagement. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting game drives and bush walks, hosting guests and contributing to the overall guest experience within the lodge.

The Role
The Trails Guide will be responsible for conducting exceptional game drives and guided bush walks while ensuring guest safety and delivering informative, memorable wildlife experiences. The role requires a highly professional guide with strong hosting abilities and a passion for conservation and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
⢠Conduct morning and afternoon game drives in accordance with reserve regulations
⢠Lead guided bush walks while adhering to all safety and operational procedures
⢠Host guests throughout their stay and provide exceptional guest interaction
⢠Conduct wake-up calls and host morning coffee service
⢠Host guests during high tea service before afternoon activities
⢠Meet and greet guests on arrival and departure
⢠Assist with luggage handling and vehicle parking when required
⢠Manage guest dietary requirements and communicate relevant information to the kitchen team
⢠Conduct airstrip transfers and follow aviation safety protocols
⢠Remove wildlife and reptiles from guest areas when necessary and safe to do so
⢠Maintain guiding equipment, rifles and first aid kits to required standards
⢠Communicate effectively via reserve radio networks and approved communication channels
⢠Conduct children's activities where required
⢠Assist with lodge maintenance duties when operationally required
Requirements
⢠FGASA Trails Guide (NQF2 or NQF4)
⢠FGASA Nature Site Guide (NQF4)
⢠Viewing Potentially Dangerous Animals (VPDA) qualification
⢠FGASA Advanced Rifle Handling (ARH)
⢠Valid PDP
⢠First Aid qualification (Wilderness First Aid advantageous)
⢠Department of Tourism registration applicable to Madikwe Game Reserve
⢠SAPS Firearm Competency Certificate
⢠SASSETA 117705 / 119651 / 123519 certification or legal firearm licence
⢠CATHSSETA certification
⢠Ability to complete Madikwe Game Reserve shooting assessments and reserve requirements
⢠Minimum 3 years' guiding experience in a similar environment
