We have an amazing opportunity for a Video Production Team Leader to be based in Umhlanga, Do you think you have what it takes to be our newest Purple Star?

The Operations Specialist will be responsible for attending to all queries, requests and enquiries from all the departments, to ensure effective and timeously resolution of matters impacting operations.  Providing administrative support to the Mobile Department, assistance with project processes, and reporting on daily activities

You Bring 

• 5 years’ experience in a video production environment 
• Proven experience managing a team of 4 or more people 
• Strong, demonstrable experience in hands-on videography (shooting, directing, lighting, audio) 
• Advanced proficiency in: 
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop)
  • DaVinci Resolve
  • Audio tools (Adobe Audition / Pro Tools)
• Extensive knowledge of video production equipment 
• Valid Driver’s License

What You’ll Do For The Brand:

Operational

• Assist with maintenance of the server and archiving of footage 
• Plan and execute shoots in alignment with creative briefs 
• Organise and manage footage and media libraries 
• Actively shoot video content across studio and on-location environments 
• Provide hands-on support during production (camera operation, lighting, audio) 
• Any other ad hoc requests from the manager

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Operational Management

• Report to and work closely with the Head of Video on daily operations
• Manage pre-production, production, and post-production workflows
• Schedule shoots and allocate videographers, editors, and equipment
• Supervise team members during live and day-to-day productions
• Provide guidance, coaching, and technical support to videographers and editors
• Ensure all deliverables meet quality and brand standards

Hands-On Video Production 

• Personally shoot, film, and direct video content on a regular basis
• Operate camera equipment, lighting setups, and audio recording systems during shoots
• Take ownership of key or high-priority shoots, ensuring creative and technical excellence
• Film both studio and on-location content, including live events where required
• Ensure optimal framing, lighting, and sound quality across all productions
• Step in operationally when required to ensure delivery deadlines are met (including filming and editing)

Production & Studio Management

• Plan and execute shoots according to creative briefs and timelines
• Manage studio bookings (Video, Audio, Photography)
• Maintain and manage all production equipment, ensuring readiness and functionality
• Conduct regular equipment checks and inventory management
• Ensure all media is properly archived and easily retrievable

Post-Production & Quality Control

• Edit video content when required, particularly for high-priority or complex projects
• Direct and support editors in post-production processes
• Oversee colour grading, audio quality, and final output standards
• Conduct daily quality control checks on all video deliverables
• Deliver content in multiple formats suitable for various platforms

Stakeholder & Project Management

• Respond to client requests within agreed timelines
• Provide updates and feedback on project status
• Troubleshoot issues to ensure delivery is on track
• Continuously improve video production processes and best practices
