Warehouse & Driver Assistant (6-Month Contract)

We are looking for a reliable, hands-on Warehouse & Driver Assistant to provide support wherever needed to keep daily operations running smoothly.

The role is primarily focused on warehouse operations, including receiving stock, picking and packing orders, loading and offloading, and assisting with dispatch.

You will also provide support to our Blackheath Distribution Centre (DC) and Logistics team, including assisting with deliveries, collections and container offloading when required.

• Model: On-site (Monday - Friday)
• Contract: 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract
• Schedule: Monday to Thursday (08:00 - 16:30) & Friday (08:00 - 16:00)

Responsibilities

Warehouse & Stock Operations (Primary)

• Pick and fill orders from stock.
• Pack and prepare orders for dispatch.
• Ensure orders are loaded and secured correctly for delivery.
• Assist with loading orders for customers at the dispatch area.
• Receive and process incoming stock and materials.
• Assist with stock counts and inventory control.
• Maintain accurate records of stock movements, orders and dispatch documentation.
• Organise and maintain inventory and storage areas.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment where appropriately licensed and authorised.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised warehouse environment.

Delivery & DC Support (Secondary & Ad Hoc)

• Travel between the Stikland Warehouse and Blackheath Distribution Centre (DC) when required.
• Assist with receiving and offloading incoming containers and larger deliveries.
• Assist drivers with loading, offloading and handling goods.
• Assist with deliveries and collections when required.
• Drive company vehicles when authorised and appropriately licensed.
• Provide backup support to the Logistics team during urgent operational requirements or staff shortages.
• Work closely with the Warehouse, Distribution Centre and Logistics teams to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Follow warehouse, dispatch, vehicle and site safety procedures.

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a warehouse, dispatch, logistics or similar operational environment.
• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Experience with stock handling, picking, packing, loading and offloading.
• Valid forklift licence.
• Valid Code 10 driver's licence.
• Valid Code 8 driver's licence.
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Willingness and ability to travel between Stikland and Blackheath during working hours when required.
• Physically capable of performing an active warehouse and logistics role involving standing, walking, lifting, loading and offloading.

Advantageous

• Previous experience as a Driver Assistant, Delivery Assistant or similar role.
• Experience within the food service equipment industry.
• Experience using warehouse or inventory management systems.
• Experience handling containers or larger inbound deliveries.
