Job Description

They are seeking an experienced Receiving Manager to oversee the accurate receipt, verification, and movement of stock within their Cape Town CBD branch. The successful candidate will ensure all incoming goods are processed efficiently and in accordance with company procedures while leading the receiving team to maintain high operational standards.

Responsibilities:

Receiving & Inventory Control

• Manage the accurate receiving, verification, and processing of all incoming goods.


• Ensure all deliveries are checked against purchase orders and invoices for accuracy, quantity, and condition.


• Oversee the scanning, capturing, and receipting of stock in accordance with company procedures.


• Ensure all deliveries are processed and moved to the trading floor efficiently.


• Monitor and control high-risk stock and ensure secure handling practices.

Returns & Supplier Management

• Manage supplier returns, credit notes, warehouse claims, and return-to-vendor processes.


• Verify and process damaged, incorrect, or unordered goods in accordance with company procedures.


• Liaise with suppliers regarding returns, collections, and outstanding credits.


• Ensure warehouse claims and supplier return documentation are accurately maintained.

Administration & Compliance

• Create and process purchase orders and invoices accurately within the ERP system.


• Ensure all receiving documentation is captured, filed, and submitted according to company procedures.


• Maintain effective document control and ensure compliance with operational policies and standard operating procedures.


• Support inventory accuracy through effective stock control processes.

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop the receiving team to achieve operational excellence.


• Manage staff scheduling, training, and performance management.


• Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.


• Support store management in maintaining organised and secure storerooms.

Operational Excellence

• Ensure receiving operations meet daily deadlines and business requirements.


• Maintain physical security within the receiving area and prevent unauthorised access.


• Identify opportunities to improve receiving processes and operational efficiency.


• Work closely with store management and other departments to ensure seamless stock flow.

Requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric.


• Minimum of 3 years experience in a retail receiving environment.


• 2 – 6 years supervisory or management experience is highly advantageous.


• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.


• Working knowledge of SAP will be advantageous.


• Strong understanding of receiving procedures, inventory control, and stock administration.


• Able and physically fit to lift and move heavy boxes


• Willing and able to work retail hours.


• Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.


• South African citizen with clear criminal and credit records.
