Job Description

Our client is looking for a hardworking and reliable Wash Bay Attendant to join their Reefer Department. This role is responsible for washing, cleaning, drying, and preparing refrigerated containers (reefers) for inspection, ensuring they meet the required cleanliness standards for PPECB accreditation.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash, clean and dry reefer containers to the required standard.


• Prepare containers for inspection by the PPECB.


• Determine the appropriate washing method, including the use of water, detergents or chemicals, based on pre-wash inspections.


• Treat reefer containers with unpleasant odours.


• Present containers for PPECB cleanliness inspections.


• Assist the PPECB representative during inspections, including opening container doors when required.


• Record inspection outcomes and report failed inspections where applicable.


• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area.


• Follow all company health, safety and operational procedures.


• Carry out additional duties as reasonably required by management.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric.


• Previous experience in a wash bay, warehouse, logistics, manufacturing or industrial environment will be advantageous.


• In-house training will be provided.


• Physically fit and able to perform manual work.


• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.


• Ability to read and understand simple written instructions.


• Good communication skills.


• Reliable, punctual and able to work well in a team.
