This position will be responsible for the preparation of financial reporting and business partnering with the Commercial teams: Cellular, Financial Services and Online Commerce. Ensuring the completeness, validity & accuracy of all reports, projects and business processes.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Finance Manager: Retail Accounting and will be part of a structured Finance team. The roles manages 3 direct reports.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
1. Financial Reporting
- Preparation of monthly income statement and management reports, as well as compiling the annual budget and 3 year plan
- Ensure that monthly income statement, management reports, annual budgets and 3 year plan are all prepared
- Continuously assessing the Commercial business process to enhance and improve reporting efficiencies
- Monthly Revenue & retail KPI reports
- Quarterly Statutory Packs (Pepkor Group)
- Reconciliation from Management Accounts to Statutory Packs
- Management of the Quarterly and Year end reporting process by effectively managing the reporting requirements of the Financial Managers
- Prepare the Annual Financial Statements for all entities
2. Stakeholder Management
- Providing the necessary financial assistance and support
- Upskilling business partners through training and the sharing of specialist knowledge
- Discuss monthly variance to budgets with relevant stakeholders
- Keeping a clear line of communication between business partners and finance
- A clear understanding of the impact of commercial business needs on finance
3. Stakeholder engagement
- Manage & build relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to make the right financial decisions through reporting and engagement.
- Managing relationships and building good rapport with external service providers
- Compiling financial models and presentations

QUALIFICATIONS AND LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE
Qualifications
Essential:
- B.Com. Accounting or relevant Accounting degree
Preferred:
- Postgraduate Accounting degree (B.Com Honours), or;
- CA (SA) qualification
- CIMA qualification
Experience
Essential:
- 3-5 years’ relevant experience as an Accountant
Preferred:
- Experience within the retail environment
- Completion of articles (if CA (SA))
