Our client, a luxury hotel considered one of the finest in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced LAUNDRY MANAGER . They offer spacious and elegantly styled rooms, suites, and serviced apartments.

The Laundry Manager will play a vital role in maintaining the hotel's impeccable standards by guaranteeing clean, high-quality laundry services that meet guest expectations.

As ideal candidate you will have:

• 3 Years’ experience in similar role in Branded 5 Star Hotel
• Hospitality qualification
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Immaculate presentation skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• A welcoming personality that makes every guest feel at home.
• Passport valid for at least 3years
• Clear medical bill
• Clean background check

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Leading and motivating a team of 30 laundry staff members , fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Staff Supervision: The Laundry Manager is the leader, ensuring staff is well-trained, motivated, and adheres to safety protocols. This includes scheduling, performance reviews, and conflict resolution.
• Linen Inventory Control: Maintaining an accurate inventory of linens (sheets, towels, tablecloths, etc.) is crucial. This involves tracking usage, ordering replacements, and managing linen lifecycles.
• Efficient Garment Care: Developing and implementing efficient laundry procedures is key. This includes sorting garments, selecting appropriate washing cycles, and ensuring stain removal techniques are effective.

Quality and Guest Satisfaction :

• High Standards of Cleanliness: The Laundry Manager is responsible for ensuring all guest laundry, including delicate and specialty fabrics, meet the hotel's high standards. This involves monitoring quality control measures and addressing any issues.
• Timely Turnaround: Guests expect clean laundry delivered promptly. The Laundry Manager implements and enforces procedures to ensure laundry is processed and returned within specified timeframes.

Resource Management and Innovation:

• Laundry Budget Management: The Laundry Manager oversees the laundry budget, optimizing resource allocation for equipment, supplies, and staff. This might involve cost-saving measures while maintaining quality.
• Staying Up to Date: The laundry industry evolves. The Laundry Manager stays informed about best practices, including stain removal techniques and eco-friendly cleaning methods, to ensure the hotel remains efficient and sustainable.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Building Relationships: Smooth laundry operations require strong relationships with housekeeping and other departments. The Laundry Manager fosters communication and collaboration to ensure efficient laundry flow throughout the hotel.

Salary Package

• Basic salary - USD 1 200+ (Negotiable, depending on experience and skills)
• Single, an-suite accommodation
• Meals included
• Annual paid leave (3 weeks leave + 2 weeks lieu days
• Local medical insurance
• Visa and joining flight
• Annual flight to home country

Starting date: August/September, all depending on the visa process
