Job Description
Exciting new position available to develop the end-to-end marketing, event and communication strategy for a client within the retail industry. The candidate is required to plan and execute programmes aimed at acquiring new customers at scale from the surrounding community. They are directly responsible for ensuring alignment and execution of marketing activities and for delivering maximum ROI and achieving the landlord’s objectives. The Marketing Manager will be permanently situated at the client in Johannesburg and is required to attend meetings at their head office in Illovo, Johannesburg. This is a full-time role with working hours being 08h00 to 16h30 Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing strategies that achieve the Landlord’s objectives
- Annual marketing and communication plans
- Leading the marketing and communication efforts of the mall (the client)
- Assume accountability for all marketing activities above & below the line
- Developing and implementing ongoing marketing and PR activities within the surrounding community
- Plan and implement consumer initiatives and special events
- Sell and secure sponsorships, trade-agreements and marketing partnerships
- Fostering positive tenant relationships and communication
- Monitoring and managing the centre’s PR and public image
- Development & maintenance of the digital and social media strategy
- Ongoing community management across a variety of platforms
- Content creation and distribution (print and online)
- Maintaining and monitoring the marketing budget
- Evaluate the effectiveness of key marketing activities in terms of sales results, consumer response, publicity value, tenant success and community support
- Reporting, monitoring and analysing all KPI’s of the Landlord and ensuring they are achieved
- Overseeing the contracted sales team and ensuring targets are achieved
Requirements
- Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or IMM
- Fluent in English
- 3+ years of experience in event or retail marketing
- 3+ years of experience in event planning and management
- Favourable experience: 2+ years of experience in shopping centre marketing
- The Marketing Manager role is ideally suited for an energetic, detail-oriented and dynamic marketing professional. As a Marketing Manager the candidate will be required to be independent, hardworking and knowledgeable in variety of different marketing techniques
- Sound operational expertise and experience in event planning, securing sponsorships and working with sales teams is essential
