Regional Sales Manager KZN
Position Summary
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for managing District Managers and the territory/region - whilst achieving Brand sales targets. Furthermore, the successful incumbent will be responsible for developing relationships with Retailers and ensuring implementation of Sales/Marketing strategies whilst ensuring Customer Growth, Brand Awareness and Operational Excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Ensures Customer and Market Growth
- Implement and drive retail sales strategies to achieve and exceed sales objectives and meet expense budgets/demonstration costs.
- In conjunction with Brand team, ensure events are achieving budget, retail sales and productivity.
- Work with Education Manager to ensure customer service and Make-up Artists skills/ productivity achieve set targets.
- Ensure that marketing calendar plans are implemented.
- Actively pursue ongoing development of professional business relationships with Store management using effective influencing and negotiation skills.
- Conduct Strategy presentations to each store team on a six monthly basis.
- Negotiate and confirm undertakings given by Store team following the Strategy presentation.
- Be proactive in managing stock levels in store. In conjunction with Brand Directors assist in the formulation of the Retail Sales targets by Store Group and Regions.
- Assist in the development of seasonal and business plans for presentation, negotiation, follow-up and implementation with each retail store group.
Manages Operational Effectiveness
- Communicate with District Managers ensuring sales strategies are implemented and budget maintained.
- Analyze demo costs in line with budgets and provide feedback to the Brand Director.
- Following the national direction for sales growth, calculate territory sales targets by week / month and season.
- Ensure stores keep within the allocated tester budget for the season.
- Maintain high level and standard of communication – with District Managers, store management teams, counter teams and head office.
- Ensure merchandising and visual presentation of all counters are in accordance with relevant Merchandising guidelines.
- Ensure all stores have the necessary selling tools to perform their responsibilities.
- Demonstrates behaviour that continually places the customer as a priority.
- Processes returns and finds ways to reduce returns.
- Monitors and manages min/max stock holdings.
- Processes sales orders and returns for region.
- Monitors and manages order status for region.
- In conjunction with NOM assist in the formulation of the Retail Sales targets by Store Group and Regions.
- Assist in the development (in conjunction with national sales team) of seasonal and business plans for presentation, negotiation, follow-up and implementation with each retail store group.
- Assist to develop a strong, effective and productive partnership with Regional Operations Managers of Retailers and all store management.
- Providing a sustainable competitive advantage as a Key Accounts Manager. • Ensure all AE’s have the necessary tools to perform their responsibilities
Improves Business Processes
- Identify weaknesses in business and strengths for further business development:.
- Provide recommendations, and where approved, implement decisive strategies accordingly.
- Monitor penetration and business activities of key competitors - providing suggestions to relevant stakeholders on appropriate action.
- Provide timely feedback to the head office team on business opportunities and results of current marketing activities.
- Ensures monthly itinerary is submitted. Follow up on outstanding stock items.
- Creates excitement regards all in-house incentives and competitions by motivating Make-up Artist's to compete.
Lead and Develop People
- Coach and develop teams within territory to maximize individual and team performance .
- Recruit new team members as required to Brand image and style.
- Actively monitor turnover of staff.
- Conduct regular team meetings.
- Conduct formal annual assessment of teams performance.
Qualifications
- Grade 12
- Business Degree/ Diploma
- Full, unrestricted Driver’s license
- At least 7 years sales management experience, gained within the department store prestige product marketplace.
- People management experience
- Advanced MS Office – Word, Excel and PowerPoint
