Visual Merchandising Manager

Job Description

Exclusive lifestyle and design brand requires an experienced Visual Merchandiser to create, develop, and implement all visual merchandising programmes and lead the design of in-store visual displays for their retail outlets across South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement a visual merchandising strategy for the company.
• Ensure the strategy is in line with the company brand, products, and target market.
• Generate sketches of visual displays that meet visual design requirements.
• Finalise designs and creating detailed floor plans for display areas.
• Source props, creative materials, and accessories for displays.
• Change displays to promote new product launches or to reflect festive or seasonal themes.
• Ensure uniformity of displays across multiple store locations.
• Liaise with other retail professionals, including buyers, marketing executives, and retail merchandisers, when necessary.
• Monitor costs and work within budget.
• Research lifestyle and design trends that will inform the visual merchandising strategy.
• Train staff in VM standards/principles of display.
• National bi monthly and annual audit of stores nationally.
• Ensure standards are upheld for store layout/design and store revamps.
• Help conceptualise product special offers and promotions.
• Together with Head of Graphics, conceptualise campaigns and present to EXCO.
• Project management of all prop and print production in-house and with suppliers.
• Communication of audit document to store managers to ensure adequate stock levels of permanent fixtures.
• Conceptualise and execute the décor of media launches, store launches, exhibitions, collaborations, in-house events.
  

Requirements

• Must have five years' proven work experience as a visual merchandiser or visual manager in retail
  
• Tertiary qualification in graphic design, visual communications, spatial design, interior design, retail management, or a related field
  
• Comprehensive portfolio of relevant visual design work - please include with your application
  
• Working knowledge of current visual merchandising trends and best practices
