Job Description - Technical Sales Consultant


SUMMARY:
External Technical Sales Consultant – Kwa Zulu Natal Our client is looking for an experienced internal Pump Salesperson with relevant pump industry experience to join their team. The Company specializes in various sectors including medical and manufacturing and petrochemical industries to name a few. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and servicing of all existing customers
  • Selected generation of new customers as per market requirements
  • Answering customer calls with respect to new orders, sales, quotations, spares and queries
  • Understanding of customer requirements and selection of pumps / pump sets as per customer requirements
  • Generation and forwarding of quotes to customers
  • Following up on customer quotations
  • Ensuring that relevant spares, parts, pumps and related ancillaries are procured and ordered as per required customer orders
  • Following up on the progress of customer orders
  • Follow up with suppliers with respect to parts for customer orders
  • Maintain and ensure sufficient stock levels for all pump build requirements
  • Expediting of orders and invoicing of customers
  • Ongoing liaison with various company departments as may be needed with respect to product, builds, assembly, complaints
  • Other relevant duties as may be required for the completion of tender’s quotations as well as customer interaction
  • Responding to customer complaints where necessary, and escalating to the relevant department as may be required

POSITION INFO:
Desired Experience and Skills:

  • Grade 12 / matric – combined with sales / marketing qualification – advantageous
  • Relevant Tertiary Pump / Trade qualification is essential
  • Must have 3 to 5 years pump sales experience – nonnegotiable
  • Knowledge within Vacuum pumps would be hugely advantageous
  • Previous experience pump sales and ancillary procurement experience a must
  • Computer literate – MS Office
Competencies:
  • Must be Customer / Sales Orientated.
  • Proven Sales Ability.
  • Must be prepared to work long hours with travelling.
  • Must have excellent negotiation skills.
  • Individual must be dynamic, motivated and sales driven
  • Ability to work to targets and budgets
  • Good communication skills – both verbal and written with all levels of staff and customers
