Job Description - Executive Housekeeper

We are a new luxury hotel opening soon in Thohoyandou, dedicated to providing exceptional service and unforgettable experiences to our guests. As we prepare for our grand opening, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Executive Housekeeper to join our team and play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilies:

  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring cleanliness, orderliness, and attractiveness of all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas.
  • Develop and implement cleaning schedules, procedures, and policies to maintain cleanliness standards in compliance with hotel guidelines and regulations.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate a team of housekeeping staff, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and professionalism.
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure adherence to cleanliness standards and promptly address any deficiencies or maintenance issues.
  • Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment, place orders as needed, and ensure proper storage and usage to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as front office and maintenance, to coordinate guest requests, room assignments, and maintenance activities, ensuring seamless communication and guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain records of housekeeping activities, including room occupancy, cleaning schedules, and staff performance evaluations, and prepare reports as required by management.

Minimum criteria:

  • Previous experience as an Executive Housekeeper or similar role in a luxury hotel or resort environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team of housekeeping staff.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of housekeeping operations, cleaning techniques, and industry standards, with a focus on attention to detail and quality assurance.
  • Proficiency in using housekeeping management software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
