SUMMARY:

Position: Hedge Funds Investments Analyst

Location: Centurion and Sandton
Role Purpose:
As a Hedge Funds Investments Analyst, you'll play a crucial role in supporting the investment process for our hedge fund product suite. This entails collaborating with the Portfolio Manager and contributing to team discussions, offering exposure to diverse hedge fund strategies that require thorough evaluation. Additionally, you'll be responsible for maintaining and analyzing data on the South African Hedge Funds universe and contributing to broader Alternative Investment processes.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Investment Management or a related field.
• Preferably holds a CAIA or CFA designation.

Minimum Experience:

• Strong foundation in Financial Markets.
• 3-5 years of experience in the investment industry.
• Prior exposure to hedge funds is advantageous.
• Proficient quantitative skills are beneficial.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Monitor the performance of existing hedge funds in our portfolio and track relevant data.
• Conduct thorough due diligence on new funds and those within our investable universe, understanding strategy mechanics, performance drivers, and risk sources.
• Document findings on engagements with hedge fund managers.
• Maintain and update information on single-manager portfolios.
• Evaluate risk data and contribute to refining quantitative models.
• Engage in ongoing research and development, presenting findings to the investment team.
• Support the portfolio manager in daily portfolio management tasks.
• Provide recommendations to optimize investment mandates for improved profitability or cost-effectiveness.
• Monitor and report on portfolio performance.
• Stay informed about current market developments and intelligence.
• Assist in revising marketing materials and presentations as necessary.
• Undertake miscellaneous projects as assigned.
