Job Description - Pastry Chef

Hospitality and Outdoor - New Vacancy – Pastry Sous Chef

Luxury Lodge – Kruger National Park

Requirements:

  • Completed an undergraduate degree in culinary arts or attended a bakery school.
  • 3-5 years of working experience in a hotel/ lodge environment.(Essential)
  • Pastry section experience is required.
  • Knowledge of assessing inventory and supplies.
  • Maintaining safe and sanitary working conditions.
  • Develop recipes and menus, and/or suggest alternative baking methods.

Description:

  • Having a strong ability and willingness to train, mentor, manage and continually improve the kitchen team.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current leading culinary trends
  • Systemize and streamline the kitchen – ordering stock, food preparation and presentation, timely delivery, wastage reduction, hygiene, budget control from receiving to execution.
  • Menu compilation and implementation.
