Job Description:

Our client is in need of an experienced Cataloguer from a background in mining cataloguing and classification to join their team in West Africa.

Responsibilities:

• Cataloguing items, products and information using established classification systems and standards.
• Creating details records for each item including metadata.
• Assigning keywords, tags and identifiers for search and retrieval.
• Maintaining and updating records.
• Ensuring consistency and accuracy is maintained across the catalogue.
• Assisting in searching of catalogue and locating of items.
• Continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and usability.
• Management of special cataloguing projects.
• Ensuring confidentiality and security of records and sensitive information is maintained.
• Resolving non-compliance and other issues that may arise.
• Review and resolve non-conformities.
• Ensuring compliance with corporate governance and purchasing policies.

Requirements : Qualification and Skill

• Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science, Information Science or similar relevant field.
• 7 years’ experience in cataloguing within the mining sector, including metadata management and information organisation.
• Highly Computer literate in MS Office and cataloguing software and databases.
• Familiar with cataloguing standards and classification systems.
• Strong communication skills.
• Previous experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proven leadership skills.
• Experience mentoring and training subordinates of diverse cultural backgrounds as an expatriate in West Africa preferred.
