About the role 

NOA's Assets team is seeking Graduate Engineers to join our 12-month graduate programme, working across Engineering, EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction), Procurement, and Operations & Maintenance. We are looking for individuals who are motivated, hands-on and genuinely interested in the physical build-out of South Africa's renewable energy infrastructure. 

This is a rare opportunity to build a career at the construction and operational coalface of the energy transition. Our Graduate Engineers support the teams designing, building, procuring for and operating NOA's growing fleet of solar PV, wind and battery energy storage (BESS) facilities. 

Whichever team you join, you will gain hands-on exposure to real projects under construction and in operation, working alongside experienced engineers, site teams and asset managers, while developing the technical grounding to grow into a specialist or leadership role within NOA's Assets business. 

Key accountabilities 

• Support the technical design, review & documentation of solar PV, wind & BESS projects. 

• Assist with EPC contract administration, site progress reporting & quality/safety checks during construction. 

• Support procurement processes, including RFQs, supplier evaluation and contract administration for equipment & services. 

• Assist with operations & maintenance reporting, performance monitoring & fault investigation across NOA's operating asset fleet. 

• Contribute to site visits & inspections, working closely with contractors, EPC partners & internal engineering teams. 

• Support cost estimation, quantity surveying & budget tracking on capital projects, where relevant to your discipline. 

• Help maintain
  accurate technical records, drawings & asset data to support informed decisions 

• Participate in continuous improvement of engineering standards, processes & tools used across the Assets team

Role requirements 

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline relevant to the design, construction or operation of renewable energy projects — eg. Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Construction Management or Quantity Surveying. 

• A strong academic record 

Experience:

• No formal work experience is — this is a graduate-entry role. 

• Relevant vacation work, internships, site exposure or academic projects related to construction, EPC, procurement or renewable energy are advantageous.

Technical & functional competencies:  

• Sound understanding of engineering design principles relevant to your discipline. 

• Exposure to construction, EPC or procurement processes is advantageous. 

• Basic understanding of renewable energy technologies (solar PV, wind and/or BESS)

• Strong Excel & analytical skills, with the ability to interpret technical &commercial data. 

• Clear written & verbal communication -ability to produce accurate technical documentation.
